Kansas State commit Brandon Ford shuts recruitment down

It feels like a long time ago at this point, but Kansas State received its first 2026 commitment back in October. Crowley, Texas corner Brandon Ford was the first commitment to K-State after an unofficial visit in October for the Sunflower Showdown. Over the weekend, the Texan made an official visit to Kansas State.
Shortly after returning back to Texas, Ford announced he was shutting his recruitment down. It is impressive for K-State, as Memphis and Oklahoma State were both lurking.
“Honestly, at first I was questioning my commitment, but after the visit it just reassured me on the place that I’m at is for me,” Ford began. “The atmosphere honestly reassured me. How everyone operates and moves around just help me get that reminder I needed.”
Ford enjoyed his time back in Manhattan.
“It was great! Me and my family had an amazing time and enjoyed the hospitality,” he shared. “My favorite part was probably the meeting with the coaches. I was able to get a different idea of everyone and get to know them more.”
Being around K-State cornerbacks coach Van Malone again was a major highlight for the junior corner.
“It was nice. Me and him already kept contact through my commitment so it was naturally a good conversation when me and him were talking,” he noted. “He’s highly respected amongst the players and coaches. My relationship has gotta tighter as time passes. He always calls to check up on me and my people and I learn more about him as time goes by.”

The Texans host of his visit was Kansas State corner Jayden Rowe who transferred to K-State from Oklahoma in December. The two hit it off on the visit.
“Rowe kept it real and I could tell he wasn’t trying to put on a fake personality or anything,” he pointed out. “Same with the other players that were around at the time. Definitely a great person all around.”
There were a few differences in his official visit compared to when the junior visited in October.
“When I went back in October it was for a game so there was less interaction with coaches, but since there was wasn’t a game I got to get to know more coaches,” he said
Ford has a message for fellow recruits who are considering Kansas State.
“If they are looking for genuine coaches that actually care about the players and a great fan base then K-State is the place,” he concluded.
