Kansas State flips wide receiver Wesley Watson
Kansas State is on the board in the 2023 recruiting class with the addition of Texas wide receiver Wesley Watson. The Texas native was a Colorado pledge until Karl Dorrell was fired and he began to listen to other schools.
His commitment to K-State comes on the heels of being in town for an official visit this weekend and seeing a dominant 48-0 victory for the Wildcats over Oklahoma State.
It came together quickly between the two sides. Watson was offered by Kansas State on October 12 and picked them over new offers from the Cowboys and Utah. In fact, he canceled his remaining visit to Stillwater.
The Texas native also held offers from Air Force, Arkansas State, Army, Buffalo, Colorado State, Harvard, Houston, Incarnate Word, Louisiana, Navy, New Mexico State, North Texas, New Mexico State, Northwestern State, Pennsylvania, Princeton, Rice, Sam Houston State, SMU, Texas State, Tulane, UTEP, Utah State and Yale.

Despite only holding an offer for a few weeks, Watson received the full court press from K-State. And it was not just from the Kansas State coaches, but that also included Avery Johnson, Donovan McIntosh and other K-State commits.
Watson is commitment No. 20 for Kansas State and is the third receiver of the cycle. He adds to a group that already Andre Davis and Jayce Brown. He is also the second member of the Lone Star State to commit to K-State and joins safety Kameron Sallis.
Stay tuned to KSO for the rest of Tuesday. We’ll have coverage of the press conference where Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman will speak to the media, the basketball exhibition contest with Washburn in the evening and there’s a chance that K-State could add one more commit before the day is over.
