Kansas State impresses Kansas City sophomore Ka'Mori Moore
It’s never too early to be thinking about the 2025 recruiting class. Kansas State hosted a crop of visitors from Lee’s Summit North on March 9. Linebacker Chase Pearsall left Manhattan with an offer, and the headliners are five-star Williams Nwaneri and 2025 star Isaiah Mozee.
But another prospect from the high school to keep in mind is defensive lineman Ka’Mori Moore.
“I had a great time,” he said. “You know it’s always good vibes in Manhattan. I also learned and took in so much.”
One item or takeaway for Moore was the behavior of the K-State players. Obviously, they are in the midst of spring football and are busier than they were in the Winter. However, they were noticeably invested for it being the month of March.
Many were very locked into watching film or getting their bodies right for when Kansas State practices resume after Spring break.
“The way the players operated stood out,” Moore explained. “And how the moves translated to their play in the team period stood out to me, too.”
Watching Kansas State assistant Mike Tuiasosopo coach the defensive tackles made an impression on the high school sophomore.
“How Coach Tuiasosopo guided the players during their individual period stood out about the practice,” Moore shared. “He would take the drill slow before live reps and make sure all impurities were gone.”
It is still early in his recruitment, which is why his lead recruiter from K-State has been Conor Riley. That’s also not a surprise with Riley having manned the Missouri side of the Kansas City metro since they were hired in Manhattan.

The Kansas State offensive line coach has begun to build the foundation of a strong relationship with Moore.
“I would say we’re kind of close,” Moore noted. “You know, he visits the school a lot and we talk a lot.”
K-State winning the Big 12 is also a powerful selling point for the Missouri native.
“They had a great season,” Moore pointed out. “They beat a team who played in the national championship. They could possibly win one soon.”
The championship season for Kansas State allowed him to dissect the defense and pick out what he liked about it, too.
“How they communicate stands out and the calls and how they talk to each other,” Moore commented.
While he does not yet hold an offer from K-State, that could change this Summer when he camps in Manhattan. He’ll be able to perform in front of the coaches and show them why he deserves to be one of their top targets at the interior lineman spot.
Next up for Moore are visits to Missouri, Iowa, Arkansas, Iowa State, Nebraska, Illinois and Oklahoma.
