Jerome Tang and Kansas State have added their first transfer of the cycle in former North Texas guard Tylor Perry. It comes on the heels of his official visit to K-State. The Wildcats entered the Manhattan trip with the lead for the senior guard, as indicated by Kansas State predictions from On3’s Jamie Shaw and KSO’s Derek Young.

Perry’s recruitment was actually completed in the shadows in regards to K-State. He did not include the Big 12 program in his first few lists of schools that he was prioritizing. Despite that, insiders at K-StateOnline continued to stress that he was a prospect of note.

Kansas State was always in the hunt, and that became readily apparent when they were present in his final group of four schools. That was a collection of schools that also consisted of Texas Tech, Ole Miss and Florida.

While he never made the trip to Lubbock, the top 20 transfer did see Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama and Arkansas, along with K-State. Those were the five official visits that he elected to take, though the Crimson Tide and Razorbacks didn’t make the last cut.

It is a reunion for Perry with Kansas State assistant coach Jareem Dowling. The two were both in Denton, Texas in 2021-22 for the Mean Green when Perry led the team in scoring at 13.5 points per game.
