Kansas State lands four-star wide receiver Trae Davis
Kansas State has added another prospect in the Class of 2024. Troup, Texas receiver Trae Davis has committed to K-State, giving the Wildcats two wideouts in the fold. Both are from the Lone Star State as well. It is also the second commit for Kansas State in as many days and three total in December.
Davis was originally committed to Washington State and did so in September. The Wildcats offered the four-star prospect a week after his commitment to the Cougars. He picked K-State over the likes of Washington State, Tulane and UTSA.
After Kansas State offered Davis, there was heavy mutual interest between the two sides. It led to an official visit to Manhattan from the Texan for the November contest against Baylor. He also nearly visited K-State for the Houston game. The kickoff time prevented it from occurring.
His decision comes a month after his time in The Little Apple. It is also the On3 four-star’s birthday today. Davis is the third Texan to commit to Kansas State in the 2024 recruiting cycle, joining fellow receiver Jacques Spradley-Demps and linebacker Boone Morris.
All three were, coincidentally, flips.
The Wildcats are getting a very, very productive player in Davis. The senior wide receiver is Troup High School’s single game, season and career record-holder in receptions, receiving yards, touchdowns and return yards.

For the season, Davis collected 67 catches for 1,245 yards and 20 scores. The newest K-State commit also has a rushing, passing and return touchdown this season.
Davis has shared that he has recorded a laser verified 4.31 40-yard-dash time (probably exaggerated). He plays basketball and runs track, in addition to playing football at Troup High School.
The wide receiver is commitment No. 12 in the 2024 class for Kansas State, not including the addition of transfer offensive lineman Easton Kilty. Davis also gives assistant Matthew Middleton two four-star wide receiver commits.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking (combination of all four recruiting services), Davis is a high three-star prospect. He is also the second-highest rated commit in the Wildcats’ class behind only Mill Valley offensive lineman Gus Hawkins.
