After a bit of a lull, Kansas State is back on the board in the 2026 recruiting class. Mill Valley offensive lineman LaMarcus Barber has committed to K-State.

The announcement from Barber comes after an unofficial visit for Kansas State’s spring practices. He has been in Manhattan a handful of times before pulling the trigger to commit to K-State.

Barber’s recruitment was really just all Wildcats from the jump. Kansas State was the first school to offer the junior offensive lineman and did so in November. Since being offered by K-State, Arkansas State and Iowa State also jumped in on the Mill Valley product. Arkansas, Missouri and Boston College were all showing interest in him as well. The junior has visited Kansas State now three times with visits coming for a game this fall as well as in the winter for a practice just before K-State left to play in the Rate Bowl.

A hat tip goes to new Kansas State offensive line coach Brian Lepak for his hand in Barber’s recruitment. It would have been easy for K-State to slip a bit after Conor Riley departed for the Dallas Cowboys, but Lepak remained in constant contact making the Mill Valley product feel like a major priority.

It has taken a bit longer this cycle, but Kansas is still the first priority for the Wildcats in terms of recruiting. Specifically Kansas State has done very well at Mill Valley in the Chris Klieman era. Gus Hawkins, Chris Tennant, Sam Hecht and Mikey Bergeron are all recruiting wins for K-State from the Kansas City high school.

Overall, the junior offensive lineman is commitment No. 2 for the Wildcats in the 2026 cycle. He joins Texas corner Brandon Ford as the other member of the recruiting class. The junior has not yet been ranked by On3.
