Kansas State loses Brendan Hausen to transfer portal

When Kansas State overhauled its roster last season, Brendan Hausen was expected to be a significant addition. The Amarillo Assassin came from Villanova and saw a major jump in his role. Hausen started all 33 games for K-State and shot nearly 40 percent from three on over seven attempts per game. Now the Wildcats are losing their top shooter to the transfer portal.
At Villanova in two seasons, Hausen had been a good shooter off the bench, but his role expanded when he got to K-State. Playing almost 28 minutes per game and averaging 10.9 points. Hausen struggled mightily at times with his defense but found ways to contribute outside of just his elite shooting in the latter half of the season.
A fitting signal of K-State’s season, Hausen was one of the most productive offensive players. So naturally his best performance shooting the ball came in a loss at St. John’s. Hausen scored 27 points and knocked down 6/10 threes. Hausen was also big in the four day stretch where Kansas State knocked off No. 3 Iowa State in Ames and Arizona State in Tempe. Hausen scored 15 against Iowa State with two big threes and a 9/9 day at the free throw line.
With the loss, Kansas State now loses 36 percent of their made threes from the season. The 90 that Hausen knocked down was 45 more than Max Jones who was second on the team.
