Kansas State is in the midst of a two-game losing streak after disappointing losses at Houston and again at home to Arizona State. The loss to the Cougars was a close game where they fell 24-19 after having a two-score lead in the fourth quarter and they were dominated by the Sun Devils before battling back a bit to drop the game 24-14.

At 7-3, the Wildcats do have three league losses (to BYU, Houston and Arizona State) and do not have a realistic chance at a Big 12 title. But K-State head coach Chris Klieman isn’t remaining complacent. They are making a change of sorts in the structure of the offense.

Offensive coordinator Conor Riley will coach from the sidelines beginning with tonight’s game at home against Cincinnati.

Up until the meeting with the Bearcats he had been in the booth calling plays for Kansas State. He has been joined in the booth this season by tight ends coach Brian Lepak. All three K-State assistants Brian Anderson, Matt Wells and Matthew Middleton have been on the sideline.

At this point we do not know if anyone will go up to the booth with Lepak. That has not been confirmed. We also are unaware if Riley will remain the Kansas State play-caller when they face Cincinnati in Bill Snyder Family Stadium on Senior Night.

Klieman will surely comment on that at his regular press conference following the contest.

The Bearcats are 5-5 and are clawing for a bowl appearance. They were 5-2 but have lost three straight games of their own to Colorado, West Virginia and Iowa State. K-State will have their hands full with a very hungry team.
