Spring ball has flown by at Kansas State. And it’s no surprise it has, as it started a little later than most places (first week of April) and is only consisting of 10 practices instead of 15, and as always, without a spring game under head coach Chris Klieman.

At KSO, we have tackled the K-State roster, that has already changed due to some of the cuts that must be made going forward to comply with the 105 limit, position by position while gathering inside information, determined who the Wildcats will count on, provided projected depth charts and offered bold predictions.

The quarterback spot provides some intrigue even if there’s no secret as to who the starting quarterback is this season. How much can Avery Johnson improve in his second year under Matt Wells? Where does the back-up battle stand?

Will a new offensive coordinator spur new and improved usage for all-purpose back Dylan Edwards? He has made it clear he’s looking forward to that. Can he and budding star Joe Jackson be a two-headed monster for the Wildcats?

Questions are abound at wide receiver. Quite frankly, it’s not a position that has provided any sort of glamorous production or highlights in a while. We know that Jayce Brown is capable. But should everyone be bought into the idea that Jerand Bradley and Jaron Tibbs will uplift the group?

Much of the statistics through the air a season ago were given to the Kansas State tight ends, well at least the red zone scores. Now they have more mouths to feed after everyone put their best foot forward in 2024. How do they keep them all happy?

A few mainstays return, like Taylor Poitier and Andrew Leingang, but new offensive line coach Brian Lepak has to replace the greatest number of snaps and starts we’ve seen in a while up front in Manhattan. A tall task awaits.
