Kansas State offensive MVP: DJ Giddens

Kansas State running back DJ Giddens is a certified dude. He still feels extremely underrated across the country, but he should not be anymore. Giddens went over the century mark for the sixth straight game. The Junction City product also added a 45-yard touchdown catch on a wheel route to tie the game on a major fourth down play.

Avery Johnson had a solid day as well. The first half was rough through the air, but he responded in the second half. The downfield passing was much improved in the second half. Johnson was also able to scramble and ran well during the game. It may go a bit unnoticed, but Keagan Johnson had a solid game, too. He caught a 33-yard pass that led to a score later on in the drive.

Dylan Edwards keeps maximizing his touches. The true sophomore had a 27-yard touchdown run making it his third touchdown on the season.

Defensive MVP: Austin Romaine

Saturday may have been Austin Romaine‘s best game at Kansas State. The true sophomore had two sacks on the day. He also came up with one of the biggest plays in the game forcing a fumble. The fumble ended up being recovered by Jack Fabris who returned it for a touchdown to give K-State the lead.

Brendan Mott played well in New Orleans forcing pressure. He came up with a sack early in the second half to give Kansas State a boost. He was the most consistent player on the K-State defensive line Saturday afternoon.

In all, it was not a strong day for the Wildcat defense, though.

K-State special teams MVP: Chris Tennant

To be honest, Chris Tennant kind of gets special teams MVP by default. He was perfect on extra points and missed a 52-yard field goal. There were no real opportunities for a return for Kansas State and Simon McClannan just had an okay day punting the ball.
