Kansas State players of the game in win over Arizona
Kansas State offensive MVP: Avery Johnson
Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson had his best game of the season Friday night versus Arizona. The passing game looked more crisp and Johnson was in control for most of the contest. He was also able to use his legs more in the zone read game as well.
Johnson was the leading rusher for K-State, going for 110 yards. The sophomore quarterback also threw for 156 yards and added two passing touchdowns, bringing his total to six on the season.
Running back DJ Giddens continues to be a steady presence in the backfield. The Junction City product ran for 86 yards and a score on the ground. Brayden Loftin had a great game, too. He did have a bad penalty early, but recovered nicely with his second touchdown reception of the year.
Defensive MVP: Joe Klanderman
It was a tremendous effort by Kansas State on the defensive side of the ball. After a really bad showing at Tulane, they responded and were dominant for three quarters of the game versus Arizona. Joe Klanderman had the Wildcats locked in after a really long and impressive drive by Arizona to start the game.
Jacob Parrish was very good in coverage and impressive in the run game. The junior cornerback was the leading tackler with eight. Austin Romaine continued his rise from the Tulane game by tallying seven tackles and one tackle for a loss. Marques Sigle added some splash plays as well.

It was an all-around very impressive game for the K-State defense versus a very talented Arizona offense.
K-State special teams MVP: Dylan Edwards
Dylan Edwards with the ball in his hands is electric. The Derby product broke off a massive play in the first half with a 71-yard punt return touchdown. He only had one return on the game and made it count by taking it all the way.
Simon McClannan was not a busy man. He only had to punt one time, but it was a boomer of 55 yards. Chris Tennant made all four of his extra points, but he did miss one of his two field goal attempts.
