Marques Sigle led K-State in tackles with seven and came close to having a few interceptions as well. Where Sigle was very impressive was some hits. He blew a few Cougars up at the line of scrimmage on key downs.
Linebackers Jake Clifton and Desmond Purnell were also all over the field. Clifton had a few big hits on Houston quarterback Donovan Smith in the first half. Purnell had some great reads on Cougar run plays, including one play where he almost took the handoff from Smith.
K-State special teams MVP: Jack Blumer
Jack Blumer has had a good season punting the ball. He has been terrific at booting his kicks to be downed inside the 20-yard line. Two of his three punts were downed inside the 20, including a 44-yarder in the fourth quarter.
