Kansas State players of the game in win vs Kansas
Kansas State Offensive MVP: Avery Johnson
Kansas State’s offense was inconsistent for most of the night versus Kansas. However, Avery Johnson was probably the most consistent player. The sophomore quarterback threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns and put the ball in tight windows. One of his best plays was on a rollout to Will Anciaux in the first half to tie the game at seven. Johnson was also able to use his legs well rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Jayce Brown had five catches for 98 yards, but was held without a catch in the second half. DJ Giddens just keeps producing. Even in what felt like an off night for him, the Junction City product still went over 100 yards ending with 102. Dylan Edwards continues to make the most of his touches with five catches totaling 80 yards including a 44-yard run.
Defensive MVP: Austin Romaine
To be honest, for a lot of the game I did not think Kansas State was going to have a defensive MVP. K-State’s defense was struggling to tackle and only getting off the field when Kansas made mistakes.
However, the biggest play of the game was made by Austin Romaine. The sophomore linebacker forced a fumble on a 2nd and 13 run by Jalon Daniels which was recovered by Brendan Mott. It is the second time Romaine has forced a fumble in the second half of a game this season. Remember, he forced a fumble at Tulane in the second half that was recovered for a touchdown.

The second biggest play of the game came from VJ Payne. His chase-down tackle of Daniels on fourth down locked down the 16th consecutive win for K-State over the Jayhawks.
K-State special teams MVP: Chris Tennant
I mean, who else would it be? Chris Tennant was perfect on his two field goals including nailing a 51-yarder to win the game. The 51-yard kick tied his career-long at Kansas State.
