Recruiting summary
Triston Abram is a newer name in terms of offers from Kansas State, but he has been a target for awhile. His recruitment started last summer when he went to a camp at K-State. Him and the Wildcats defensive ends coach Buddy Wyatt really hit it off at the camp. Though he did not receive an offer after the camp, the two stayed in contact.
After a strong fall and spring, Kansas State extended a scholarship to Abram. It was not long after the offer was extended that an official visit was scheduled to K-State. Abram will make his way to Manhattan May 31-June 2. He also has official visits scheduled to Boston College, Memphis and Indiana in addition to Kansas State.
Evaluation of Kansas State target
The first thing that really pops watching Abram is his powerful hands. Felix Anudike-Uzomah had very heavy hands and used them to get to the passer in his time at Kansas State. Abram uses his powerful hands to get offensive lineman off of him very well.

The junior is very relentless as well. He plays hard and to the whistle and can chase down the quarterback or running backs with his speed. Abram has a few plays where he has to run a long ways to get the ball carrier, but still tracks them down.
He is also very explosive, specifically in the first step. A lot of his highlight tape he explodes with power within the first step and has great first step quickness to be able to get around tackles at the high school level. He even has a play where he got around the tackle so quickly, he almost took a handoff from the quarterback.
Abram is a bit undersized, right now at 220 pounds. However, he is tracking to be 240 pounds by the end of July.
Prediction
I like where Kansas State sits for Abram. K-State is the team on the rise in his recruitment. Immediately scheduling an official visit to Kansas State is a good sign of where the Wildcats sit.
