No change. Just like last week, Kansas State remains No. 15 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Wildcats are fresh off a 42-13 win over Troy, who was receiving votes just a week ago. However, not enough chaos ensued in front of them.

Though just barely, Oregon hung on and knocked off Texas Tech in Lubbock on Saturday night. Alabama fell at home to Texas, but that didn’t cause them to drop further than where K-State was positioned last week. Utah was also largely unimpressive, but they prevailed in the final seconds versus Baylor.

Kansas State was also No. 15 in last week’s AP Poll, which means it is likely that they don’t make a move in that ranking, either. It will release early in the week and KSO will provide the latest on that front when it becomes available.

The Wildcats were paved by an outstanding performance by K-State super senior Phillip Brooks. He scored a key touchdown just before halftime that allowed them to pull away from Troy for good. Will Howard also had five total touchdowns.

Jadon Jackson had the longest grab when he reeled in a 40-yard touchdown to reception to begin the Kansas State scoring on the day. Treshaun Ward also caught a touchdown and has a score in each of the first two K-State contests.

Chris Klieman and the Wildcats will have a chance to ascend up the rankings next weekend if they can be victorious against Missouri. The Tigers are 2-0 and hail from the SEC. That (perhaps undeserved) cache could catch attention of voters.

However, it was Kansas State that thumped Missouri 40-12 a season ago. Not just that, the Tigers struggled on Saturday when they nearly fell to Middle Tennessee.
