Kansas State to play Iowa State in Ireland in 2025
A school release announces that Kansas State and Iowa State will play their Farmageddon contest in 2025 (originally meant for Manhattan and a home game for the Wildcats) in Ireland. We have seen other teams like Nebraska, Notre Dame and Northwestern play there in the past. K-State now gets a turn. The game will be played on Saturday, August 23rd.
This will be the second K-State game played outside of the United States. The first was against Nebraska in the 1992 Tokyo Bowl. This will also be the third neutral site matchup in the series with Iowa State, as the two teams played in Arrowhead Stadium twice.
The game will be a Week 0 collision. Of course, that means it will be one of the first games of college football for the 2025 season, if not the first. The non-conference games that particular year for Kansas State are already scheduled to be home bouts with North Dakota and Army and a road affair at Arizona.
It remains to be seen if the Arizona game will stick like it is in 2024 as a non-conference game since K-State and Arizona are now conference partners in the Big 12. Most likely it will in order to alleviate any scheduling conflicts and complications.
The Wildcats have had some fun games at different venues outside of Manhattan since Chris Klieman became the head coach.

They have played Mississippi State in Starkville, Missouri in Columbia, multiple times at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl and at NRG Stadium for the Texas Bowl.
Road games in 2025 for Kansas State include not only the contest in Tucson (assuming it remains), but trips to McLane Stadium in Waco (Baylor), David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium in Lawrence (Kansas), T. Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater (Oklahoma State) and Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City (Utah).
It won’t be easy for K-State to have to play out west twice, returning to their house of horrors in Stillwater, playing in Europe but also facing a military academy and that unique brand of offense that has even given Oklahoma fits in the past.
2025 could be an interesting season for Kansas State and one that should still have Big 12 title aspirations and Avery Johnson under center. But their schedule is all over the map, literally, and begins in Ireland.
