KSO Show: Recap of Kansas State dominating SEMO 45-0
Kansas State defeated SEMO 45-0 on Saturday night on the back of nearly 300 passing yards from Will Howard, as well as over 200 rushing yards from the combination of DJ Giddens, Treshaun Ward and Avery Johnson.
The Wildcats also had two 100-yard receivers in RJ Garcia and Ben Sinnott, while the K-State defense held OVC Athlete of the Year, Geno Hess, to -4 yards rushing.
Howard also became the sixth player in Big 12 history to throw, catch, and run for a touchdown in the same game. The Wildcats’ total of 588 yards was the fifth most in school history for a single game, and the most since Kansas State put up a school record 658 yards against North Texas in 2005.
SEMO’s six rushing yards were the least that K-State has allowed since their 2009 game with Texas A&M, where the Aggies were held at -13 yards on the ground.
Kansas State kicker Chris Tennant also had a big game, going perfect on field goals and PATs, while tying his career-long field goal of 51 yards. This comes after Tennant was benched midway through the 2022 season for accuracy problems.
