Nae'Qwan Tomlin will return to Kansas State
Though he did it with very little fanfare and didn’t even release anything on his social media account, Kansas State standout Nae’Qwan Tomlin had declared for the NBA Draft to receive feedback about what he needed for his game.
The first time it was learned that he would be doing so was via K-State head coach Jerome Tang, who revealed the news.
However, according to Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman, he will be returning to school and playing one more season at Bramlage Coliseum for Kansas State.
At one point, he was genuinely interested in entertaining the possibility of a professional career. In fact, he was invited to work out by many NBA teams that recognized the potential he oozed via the flashes he showed on the court for K-State last season.
Tomlin has had a bit of a unique path. He didn’t play organized basketball until reaching the junior college level. It was then that he discovered that his elite athleticism tucked in a 6-foot-10 frame worked very well for him on the hardwood.

During his one season (thus far) in Manhattan, he helped lead Kansas State to a third place Big 12 finish and advance to the Elite Eight. He was a regular starter for the Wildcats and played every spot in the frontcourt.
His final stats in his first season read 10 points, six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block per game. Those numbers are only expected to inflate even more in the upcoming season. His head coach believes that he can have a first team All-Big 12 year.
Earlier, it was announced that K-State star Keyontae Johnson had been medically cleared by the NBA. The expectation continues to be that he will remain in the NBA Draft. Most mock projections have Johnson tabbed as a second round pick.
