Nuggets: List of Kansas State portal targets, where the Wildcats stand

Nuggets on Kansas State (in terms of inside intel) is relegated to our message board at KSO but still spills out the best information on the Wildcats in the market. All eyes are on the transfer portal right now, and we’ll stay there as well.
Though two have already entered the portal from the K-State roster in Brendan Hausen and Buddy Rich, they have scored a commit from a transfer as well. Long, sharp-shooting Monmouth guard Abdi Bashir picked the Wildcats over a long list of excellent suitors.
Jerome Tang and company have more work left to do and are in the process of pursuing others.

They’ve also experienced their share of misses already. The most publicized one was falling short for Omaha forward Marquel Sutton after he visited both Manhattan and LSU. He picked the Tigers over the weekend.

Especially after landing Bashir, the biggest need for Kansas State may be in the frontcourt since that is where most of the departures are expected. It is unclear if Tyreek Smith will get his waiver for an extra year of eligibility. Baye Fall and Ugonna Onyenso are portal candidates, and David N’Guessan and Coleman Hawkins have no more eligibility.
