Kansas State got its 2025 football recruiting class kicked off with the commitment of St. Louis quarterback Dillon Duff. The junior signal-caller committed to K-State February 19. His decision came after an unofficial visit to Manhattan on February 3.

“As I tell everyone, it was really about the people within the program that attracted me,” he said. “After I went on my visit, I walked out knowing what K-State football is all about and what they value and what they’re looking for. I felt like Coach [Chris] Klieman, [Matt] Wells and [Conor] Riley are going to not only help me grow as a player but as a father, husband and man of God. They recruited me hard, and I felt they wanted to for the right reasons, too.”

Being the first commitment of the Kansas State class carries a lot of significance, and that was important for Duff.

“Extremely blessed and honored to pave the way for the rest of the 2025 class,” he shared. “It’s been an advantage in building my relationships with the K-State staff and players early on.”

Sharing the moment and the good news with the Kansas State coaches was a major highlight for the three-star passer.

“It was a moment I’ll never forget,” Duff professed. “It was perfect timing because the offensive staff was all together in the car and I was put on speaker phone with my family. I told Coach Wells and the staff, as well as Klieman right afterwards. Their reactions made me even more confident in my decision, and it became a huge weight off my shoulders and a great moment for me. They all yelled and celebrated together in the car. They were super excited for my family and I. Klieman was super excited as well.”

The St. Louis native is going to be a staple in Manhattan and going on many visits to K-State.

“I’m going to try and get up for spring ball one or two times before I go on my official visit,” Duff pointed out. “I’m trying to plan it where I’ll be going down with some specific guys for the 2025 class so still working on those dates. Maybe even going up during camp days during the summer, too.”

Duff is already working on recruiting players to Kansas State to play with him during college.

“Some talented tight ends like Linkon Cure, DaSaahn Brame and Chase Loftin,” he revealed. “Players that I grew up playing with like Lucas Allgeyer, Jason King and Leo Almanza. Big offensive line prospects like Andrew Babalola. And some other hometown guys like DJ Miller and Isaiah Mozee.”

He plans to graduate high school in December and enroll early at K-State.
