Our Kansas State recruiting scoop moving forward will now be via a message board post at KSO and sponsored by our friends at MyPerfectFranchise.net. We thank them for their partnership and supporting the Wildcats and our site at On3.

Last week we covered the basketball recruiting efforts, particularly how K-State is faring for top targets like Meleek Thomas, Nigel Walls and Nate Ament. For the record, that is two five-star prospects and a four-star. Jerome Tang and the Wildcats do not short-change themselves.

But keep an eye on what Chris Klieman and company are doing. They exited June with a few positions unresolved. July has shown us that they do have alternative options that they have been working on and can close quick.

One could be a flip candidate.

Four linebackers have already committed to the Wildcats, and K-State identified another at a recent camp that they loved too much not to offer in Darien Whitaker of Omaha. They budged, but do the Wildcats have company?

Could the defensive tackle chase end soon as well? Assistant Mike Tuiasosopo has gone into unchartered waters in terms of recruiting region to identify a new target who was just offered by the Wildcats.

We also provide a hint of what is inside below.

  • Will Whitaker pick the Wildcats?
  • K-State may have their defensive tackle.
