Recruiting Scoop: Why Kansas State lost out on JJ Dunnigan
Our Kansas State recruiting scoop moving forward will now be via a message board post at KSO and sponsored by our friends at MyPerfectFranchise.net. We thank them for their partnership and supporting the Wildcats and our site at On3.
Transfer portal recruiting isn’t the only chasing that college coaches are currently doing. K-State and others are already turning the page to Class of 2026 prospects. That starts at home for the Wildcats, and they’ve been pretty successful at it (Linkon Cure, Avery Johnson, Dylan Edwards, Will Anciaux, etc.).
The prize in the Class of 2026 will be Manhattan High superstar JJ Dunnigan. He’s a heck of an athlete, and yes, has the ability to project to either side of the ball as a defensive back or a wide receiver. That’s partially why he picked Kansas on Thursday.
We discuss more about the Kansas State legacy picking the Jayhawks and why the Wildcats fell short.

Speaking of in-state recruits, one actually is a transfer target in Malik Benson. The Lansing native had to go the junior college route out of high school and played for Hutchinson Community College. He then took turns at Alabama and Florida State.

Thanks to Diego Pavia, he has another year of eligibility. Will he use it to play close to home?

The offensive line continues to be a point of emphasis for the Wildcats. Conor Riley needs to add a few more bodies to his stable. Amos Talalele is a great start on the interior, but there is work left to be done at offensive tackle.
Zen Michalski, Brandon Sneh and others are options.
