Three-star offensive lineman Kyle Rakers commits to Kansas State
Kansas State has collect its third offensive lineman of the Class of 2024. After landing three-star prospects Gus Hawkins and Ryan Howard, Des Moines offensive lineman Kyle Rakers committed to the Wildcats.
His verbal pledge to K-State occurs after visiting a handful of schools in the Spring. After pouring into all of his notes and research that emanated from those trips, Rakers decided to pick Kansas State and give the coaches the news even before taking his official visits.
He also held offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Michigan State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Purdue Tulane and UNLV. K-State has held a comfortable lead since he visited Manhattan in December before the dead period.
Kansas State offensive line coach Conor Riley deserves a lot of credit for landing a third offensive lineman of the class. In a short period of time, he and head coach Chris Klieman have developed a strongest relationship with the junior.
Klieman often plays a considerable role in pursuing natives of the Hawkeye State, and Rakers was no different. The K-State boss being tight one of Rakers’ coaches, Aundra Meeks, was seen as one of the tipping points as well. They have a long-standing bond.

Remember, Klieman was very front and center in landing four-star linebacker Asa Newsom for Kansas State in the previous cycle. Newsom wasn’t the only one from either, as he was joined by junior college linebacker Rex Van Wyhe.
Though they began their careers in Manhattan as walk-ons for the Wildcats, Brendan Mott and tight end Ben Sinnott have already made pivotal impacts for K-State, too. In fact, Sinnott attended the same high school as Klieman.
Conor Riley is in the process of assembling a strong unit.
Kansas State will be losing at least three offensive lineman after next season and perhaps as many as five if Cooper Beebe and Taylor Poitier do not return for an extra season. That is why it will be a big group along the offensive front that the Wildcats will sign.
Overall, Rakers is commitment No. 6 for K-State. He is also the fifth offensive player to announce for the Wildcats.
