Jerome Tang and Kansas State have crafted a great roster already worthy of competing for a Big 12 championship. But they’re not finished and continue to chase the biggest fish on the market as they work to fill the final spot.

The most well-known option that remains is Illinois transfer Coleman Hawkins. He’s one of the most coveted transfers in the entire market regardless of position and has already visited Manhattan. K-State has been in the process of fending off multiple other suitors.

Although SMU is not expecting to be in the mix for him any longer, an LSU visit for this weekend remains possible for Hawkins.

However, Kansas State continues to mine the rest of the field as well. Though Arthur Kaluma entered the transfer portal, he did withdraw his name from NBA consideration and has begun to proceed through his recruitment with a little more focus.

A visit to Villanova is being discussed and is in the cards, but it sounds like a return to K-State is possible. The Wildcats remain high on his list of options and he is open to returning to Manhattan.

In addition to Hawkins and Kaluma, Kansas State is also engaged with 6-foot-9 forward Kanon Catchings who was just granted his release from his NLI with Purdue. He’s a four-star and top 40 prospect in the Class of 2024.

A visit is possible.
