What we’re hearing on Kansas State (in terms of inside intel) is relegated to our message board at KSO but still spills out the best information on the Wildcats in the market, both from a team and K-State recruiting standpoint.

It is also brought to you by Aer Lingus – which have the travel packages for you if you want to see Kansas State take on Iowa State in Ireland in 2025. Make sure to visit Cats2Ireland.com today and check out the opportunities.

K-State is 1-0 after a 41-6 season-opening win over UT-Martin where the offense sputtered for a little bit and the defense held the fort down. That won’t always be the case but we did foresee that being the formula at least early in the season.

But the defense is undergoing some bad injury luck at linebacker once again. Everyone knows that Alec Marenco has been banged up for a bit. However, Asa Newsom also was unavailable for the 2024 debut, and Austin Moore was pulled for precautionary reasons before the beginning of the second half.

We highlight why Kansas State absolutely needs Newsom ready to go.

I’m going to be honest, everyone is going to be guilty of talking about the new 12-team playoff format way too much this year, especially early in the season, and that includes us of course. With that being said, we lay out a scenario of why it might be worth keeping an eye on Notre Dame.

Lastly, we can switch gears to football recruiting a bit. One of the main targets of the Class of 2026 will be in-state defensive end Hunter Higgins. Well, that or linebacker. He’s pretty versatile. Confidence is growing for the Wildcats on that front and we share why.
