WINNERS

1) TCU: The Horned Frogs took down Oklahoma State in double overtime to remain unscathed this season. They’re well on their way to being a top 10 team ahead of their home tilt with Kansas State.

2) ORANGE: Syracuse upset NC State. Tennessee grabbed a monumental win over Alabama. It’s a good day to be orange. It wasn’t without a bit of drama, but Clemson stayed undefeated by knocking off Florida State in Tallahassee.

3) K-STATE HOOPS: Jerome Tang and company would have been devoid of necessary guard depth had Desi Sills not arrived in Manhattan. But he’s made it to K-State and was seen on the Instagram story of Kansas State assistant Ulric Maligi. Furthermore, the assistant coach also shared with the 3MAW Podcast that Sills had completed the necessary coursework at Arkansas State to grab his degree and begins classes at K-State on October 17.

4) CATS: It may have been a bye week, but doesn’t mean that Kansas State is incapable of winning. They were able to rest up and recover before they have a showdown with the other undefeated team in conference play.

5) ADRIAN: Is it too early to begin discussing the Heisman Trophy? It would require K-State winning out of course, but seeing Bryce Young and Caleb Williams falter on Saturday didn’t hurt the chances for Kansas State quarterback Adrian Martinez. Of course, those two played extremely well even when they fell to Tennessee and Utah, respectively. And Hendon Hooker and CJ Stroud have clear claim as well.

LOSERS

1) PAC-12: After Lincoln Riley and USC fell to Utah, I don’t like the Pac-12’s chances of making the playoffs. That is nothing new for the league, but it doesn’t hurt any less. Their only hope is for the Trojans to win out and have some good fortune to occur. If not, it’s entirely on the shoulders of undefeated UCLA, and they Bruins travel to Eugene next weekend and play Oregon.

2) NOTRE DAME: Stanford has just one win this season over an FBS program. The same can be said for Marshall. They have the same win. It is versus Notre Dame. Ouch.

3) JIM LEONHARD: Falling to Michigan State this season is not the ringing endorsement that Wisconsin interim head coach Jim Leonhard needed to remain in place in Madison. It was probably a sigh of relief for former K-State defensive coordinator Scottie Hazelton, who now works in East Lansing for Mel Tucker.

4) CYCLONES: Wow. Iowa State is 0-4 to begin the Big 12 slate this season. It feels a bit like Nebraska in that they keep coming up short by the tightest of margins. The Huskers probably don’t want a head coach known for that after dealing with Scott Frost. Will anyone really want to hire Matt Campbell after this season? Did he stay too long in Ames? The Cyclones may have defeated Iowa this year, but they have lost to Baylor by seven, Kansas by three, Kansas State by one and Texas by three.

5) WILDCAT FANS: I’m sorry to inform K-State fans that Tim Brando will be calling the game in Fort Worth next Saturday evening.
