WINNERS
1) WILDCATS: It was a good week for Chris Klieman and Kansas State on the recruiting. But the first addition was Florida State transfer running back Treshaun Ward, and he’s seen as one of the best transfers in the entire country. And it was capped off by linebacker Daniel Green announcing that he would return to K-State for a final season.
2) OCTAGON OF DOOM: Bramlage Coliseum will be rocking on Tuesday when Kansas enters the arena with first place in the Big 12 on the line versus Kansas State.
3.) KLANDERMAN: The K-State defensive coordinator had to be thrilled when they landed Mississippi State nose guard transfer Jevon Banks. That was one of the few remaining missing pieces for the Wildcats.
4) KU: Credit where credit is due. Bill Self and the Jayhawks are atop the Big 12 by themselves after the Kansas State loss in Fort Worth and the Kansas win over Iowa State in Allen Field House.
5) FELIX: Just like Deuce Vaughn a few weeks ago, K-State defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah has chosen to forego his remaining eligibility and declare for the NFL Draft. He had a great carer in Manhattan that included over 20 sacks, a Big 12 championship and a New Year’s Six Bowl appearance.
6.) CLEMSON: After losing their bowl game, Dabo Swinney and company made an unprecedented move at Clemson by firing their offensive coordinator and hiring Garrett Riley away from TCU. On top of that, the basketball team remains undefeated in the ACC after taking down Duke.
LOSERS
1) LEADS: They are not safe in the Big 12 and especially not against Texas. Just days after TCU lost an 18-point lead to the Longhorns, Texas Tech had their own advantage on Rodney Terry and company slip away from them. We have also seen K-State mount a comeback versus West Virginia. Baylor nearly did against Kansas State, and the Horned Frogs have their own comeback win over the Bears.
2) FROGS: Speaking of TCU, they had a rough week before knocking off K-State in Schollmaier Arena over the weekend. They were smacked by Georgia in the National Championship by 58 points. As mentioned above, they lost an 18-point lead against Texas on the hardwood and their offensive coordinator is leaving for Clemson.

3) GUNDY: While it seemed like Mike Gundy may have been re-tooling in Stillwater and making the best out of a bad situation, things are still crumbling a bit at Oklahoma State. Defensive coordinator Derek Mason announced his resignation. Spencer Sanders is speaking out about how it unfolded, and transfer running back commit Sean Tyler flipped from the Cowboys to Minnesota.
4) WEST VIRGINIA: The Mountaineers fired their long-time associate head coach, and Bob Huggins shared that he wasn’t as involved in that decision as he was portrayed to be. That is not a great sign of alignment or symmetry in Morgantown. To make matters worse, they are 0-5 in the league.
5.) DYKES: If Sonny Dykes in fact hires Kendall Briles, he now has three on his staff that were in Waco at the time of the awful scandal that took place at Baylor.
