KSO covers the biggest winners and losers in the world of Kansas State and college athletics.

Winners

1.) Kansas State women’s basketball: Jeff Mittie and the Kansas State women’s basketball team is 3-0 now with impressive wins over Green Bay, Belmont and Creighton. All three were expected to make the NCAA Tournament or have a chance to and the Wildcats won by scores of 92-45, 82-56 and 86-68.
2.) Job-keepers: Congratulations to Billy Napier and Dave Aranda, as they have been confirmed as returning to Florida and Baylor. The Gators logged a big win over LSU, and Baylor won their fourth game in a row with a 49-35 victory over West Virginia.
3.) Big 12: Big 12 football and basketball is coming to TNT in the future. As part of an agreement between ESPN and TNT, they’ll sub-license football and basketball games that would have originally been designated for ESPN+ in exchange for ABC being able to use their Inside the NBA show.
4.) Dug: Though the game was not pretty on Thursday when K-State hosted LSU, Dug McDaniel did grab the starting job at point guard which seems to be a sign that things are moving in the right direction.
5.) Sun Devils: Thanks to a dud turned in by Kansas State, Arizona State handled the Wildcats start to finish, got some help with a BYU loss and now control their own destiny when it comes to a berth in the Big 12 title game. Kenny Dillingham is a heck of a coach.

Losers

1.) Kansas State: The Wildcats were rocked by LSU on the court and rocked by Arizona State on the football field. Yuck.
2.) Touchdown favorite: As a touchdown favorite or more, K-State has lost eight games since 2019.
3.) Rebounding: After being dominated on the boards by Cleveland State, Kansas State was even worse versus LSU. The Tigers beat the Wildcats 43-25 on the glass.
4.) Snapping: At this point we are unsure if K-State can even snap the ball to the holder for field goals.
5.) Bye week: Excluding the 2020 season that was riddled by a pandemic, Kansas State is 2-5 after a bye week under Chris Klieman.
