WINNERS:

1) KANSAS STATE: Kansas State defeated Kansas for the 14th consecutive time when they won the Sunflower Showdown 47-27. The win also punched a ticket to Arlington for K-State that sets up a rematch with TCU in the Big 12 Championship Game.

2) CATS: Two in a row for the Wildcats. Jerome Tang and Kansas State won the Cayman Islands Classic in dramatic fashion by knocking off LSU with a near last-second shot and also prevailing versus Nevada in overtime. K-State guard Markquis Nowell won MVP of the Cayman Islands Classic and Keyontae Johnson was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

3) TCU: TCU finished off the regular season at 12-0 by crushing Iowa State 62-14. After a little bit of help Saturday as well, the Horned Frogs just may be a lock for the College Football Playoff.

4) LIBERTY BOWL: It is probably the only time the Liberty Bowl will ever be considered a winner. The game is going to have some spice to it if they select Missouri and Kansas for the game.

5) MITCH FORTNER: How about the Saturday for Mitch Fortner? First he was on the call for Manhattan High School winning the 6A State Championship over Gardner-Edgerton and then he was the PA voice for Kansas State clinching a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game.

LOSERS:

1) TIGERS: It was a rough Saturday for Tigers, as LSU and Clemson both had their College Football Playoff hopes dashed. Unless Brian Kelly and company can find a way to defeat Georgia in Atlanta next Saturday, they likely will not face K-State for a second consecutive season.

2) OKLAHOMA: Oklahoma has taken L after L this season. The same applied over the last few weeks. Spencer Rattler and South Carolina have pulled off back-to-back massive upsets over Clemson and Tennessee, Caleb Williams might win the Heisman, Lincoln Riley may lead USC to the Pac-12 Championship and to the College Football Playoff in year one and the Sooners blew a massive 24-point lead against Texas Tech to finish the season 6-6 and their worst regular season record since 1998. That is not an ideal beginning for the tenure of Brent Venables. The one thing Venables and Riley do have in common is that neither had much luck versus Kansas State.

3) IOWA: The Hawkeyes fell to Nebraska and will not be going to the Big Ten Championship Game because of it. All it took was a win over a flailing Husker team with an interim head coach and they came up short.

4) CAL BASKETBALL: California might be the worst high-major basketball team. The Golden Bears are now 0-7 on the season with losses to UC Davis, UC San Diego, Southern University and Texas State.

5) ELI DRINKWITZ: Smoking a cigar after finishing 6-6 and beating a fellow 6-6 team in Arkansas is really cringe worthy.
