10-0 run gives Kentucky a 36-27 lead over LSU at the half
Man, talk about a wide range of emotions. It started as a track meet, then a defensive rock fight — or more like a brick show for both teams — before Kentucky found its groove to close out the half on a 10-0 run to take a 36-27 lead at LSU.
The Wildcats hit straight field goals to end it while the Tigers were just one of seven down the stretch with an overall scoring drought of 2:23 and three turnovers in that stretch. Antonio Reeves was the team’s biggest contributor, leading the way with 16 points on 7-10 shooting and 2-2 from three while adding three rebounds and three steals. Adou Thiero and Justin Edwards added six points apiece, followed by Reed Sheppard with four and Ugonna Onyenso and Rob Dillingham with two each.
As a team, Kentucky is shooting 47.1% from the field and 40% from three compared to 39.1% overall and 36.4% from deep for LSU. The Cats are also winning the rebounding battle 18-16 while forcing 11 turnovers and seven steals leading to 12 points.
