2025 guard Darius Acuff receives Kentucky offer
Playing up a grade with The Family’s 17U squad on the Nike EYBL circuit, 2025 guard Darius Acuff emerged as one of the best players in Atlanta for Session I, regardless of class. In four games, the 6-foot-2 prospect out of Detroit averaged 18.3 points to finish in the top 20 of all scorers at the event.
And he did so shooting 60% from the field (30-50) and 46.7% from three (7-15) while adding 4.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 27.0 minutes per contest. High volume, high efficiency, high production.
With John Calipari in attendance for the first live period of the season, Kentucky had no choice but to extend an offer.
Acuff led Detroit Cass Tech to its first Division 1 state championship this past high school season, finishing with a 27-1 record while averaging 21.4 points and 5.7 assists per game. He was ultimately named 2022-23 MaxPreps Michigan High School Basketball Player of the Year.
