'24 4-star SF Carter Bryant plans to take official visit to Kentucky in "near future"
Go ahead and learn the name Carter Bryant right now — he could be a top target for Kentucky men’s basketball sooner rather than later.
Bryant, a 6-foot-7 ’24 wing out of Fountain Valley (CA) High School, is in Orlando, FL this week for the 2022 NBPA Top 100 Camp. He wasn’t a player that we at KSR had our eyes focused on coming into the event but that quickly changed on Thursday. Bryant spoke with the media following day two action of the camp where he spilled the beans that an official visit to Kentucky will come “in the near future.”
“No as of right now I haven’t taken any officials,” Bryant said on Thursday. “In the near future I’ll be taking a visit to Kentucky, and that’s the only official I know of right now.”
Although no date for the visit has been finalized, Bryant and the UK coaching staff are in the process of setting one up. Communication between the two sides has been heating up significantly.
“I would say I talk to Kentucky pretty frequently,” Bryant added. “I talk to Coach Chin Coleman at least once a day.”
Bryant also intends to eventually take visits to the likes of Duke, Louisville, Oregon, Missouri, and Florida, but Kentucky is the only school he is already preparing to take an OV to.

“(Kentucky) probably stands out because everybody wants to experience the Blue Blood experience,” Bryant said. “Not many players are fortunate enough to get that experience.”
As of right now, Bryant does not currently hold an offer from Kentucky, but one could be expected once he ultimately makes the trip to Lexington. In the month of June alone, he’s hauled in scholarships from the likes of Xavier, LSU, Florida, UCLA, Arizona State, Missouri, and California. Bryant previously earned offers from Illinois, UNLV, and Southern California.
While Bryant isn’t currently ranked among rising juniors by On3, expect that to change soon when the expanded rankings are released. He’s already considered the No. 24 overall prospect over at 247Sports and No. 26 overall by Rivals.
Kentucky and head coach John Calipari have extended five scholarships to rising high school juniors since the contact period began earlier this month: five-star SG Ian Jackson, five-star SG Tre Johnson, five-star SG Isaiah Elohim, four-star SF Karter Knox, and unranked PG Travis Perry.
