247 Sports analyst anticipates "significant" rankings bump for Reed Sheppard
One of the storylines of the summer has been Reed Sheppard’s play on the Adidas circuit. The North Laurel star was listed as a standout at almost every Adidas event and earned a coveted scholarship offer from John Calipari and Kentucky on the first weekend of the evaluation period. Yesterday, 247 Sports’ Brandon Jenkins listed Sheppard as one of ten rising juniors primed for a rankings bump. Currently, the four-star combo guard is No. 65 in the outlet’s 2023 rankings.
There was so much hype swirling about Reed Sheppard playing his way into a Kentucky offer that I feel many forget he was playing up an age group and was one of the more productive players on the 3SSB circuit. Just like his play, his bump in the next updated rankings should be significant and impactful. He has definitely produced his way into being considered as one of the better two guards in the national 2023 class.
So far this summer, Sheppard has received offers from Kentucky, Arizona State, Clemson, Indiana, Louisville, UMass, Ohio State, and Virginia, among others. Will he be a five-star recruit soon? While we wait to find out, here are some recent highlights.
