'25 4-star CB Dawayne Galloway excited to meet Vince Marrow during visit
A little over a month ago, Dawayne Galloway had yet to receive a scholarship offer from a Power 5 program. Heading into this weekend, the class of 2025 four-star cornerback is now up to a dozen Power 5 offers. One of those scholarships came from Kentucky associate head coach Vince Marrow, which Galloway announced on Sept. 27.
“I just know he’s a good guy and he was from Ohio. He’s an Ohio guy, he loves Ohio kids. He just recruits a lot of kids from Ohio,” Galloway told KSR about Marrow before explaining how the offer came in. “It was a simple conversation. He just said he liked me, he liked what I do on the field, and he wants to offer me.”
Galloway has scheduled an unofficial visit to Lexington for this weekend to watch Kentucky host No. 21 Tennessee at Kroger Field on Saturday night. Since this will be his first trip to town, he’ll be looking for the usual things — gameday atmosphere, how the coaches coach, how the players interact, etc. But he’s mostly excited to finally meet Marrow face-to-face.
“It’s really Vince Marrow, it’s really the coach,” Galloway said of why he wants to visit UK “He’s a nice guy, I’ve talked to him a few times. I just want to meet him in person.”
Galloway, who suits up for Columbus (OH) Franklin, is up to 22 total Division I offers now. Joining Kentucky among the list of schools to extend scholarships include Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, Oklahoma, Auburn, Texas A&M, and many more. After camping at LSU and Michigan over the summer and dedicating himself to solely playing cornerback as a junior (he was splitting time at wide receiver as a sophomore), his recruitment began to blow up.

The On3 Industry Ranking considers Galloway — who clocks in at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds — a top 250 prospect in the 2025 class while On3’s individual rankings have him slotted at No. 98 overall and the third-best junior from the state of Ohio. Galloway highlighted his speed and ball-tracking skills as traits that make him stand out.
Considering Galloway is just now making himself known as a national recruit, he’s taking the process slow right now. There are no leaders at this time — “Everybody is still the same. I still talk to everybody the same.” — and he’s taking his visits on a week-by-week basis. Galloway actually said that it was the love he received from Kentucky fans online that helped push him to visit Lexington this weekend.
That’s not all Galloway has going on over the next couple of days though. Franklin is set to take on St. Clairsville on Friday night in their postseason opener. After an 0-4 start to the 2023 season (which was preceded by the previous head coach getting fired midway through the summer), Franklin has won six straight and is hitting its stride at the perfect time.
