The connections are coming in handy for Kentucky basketball under Mark Pope. Assistant coach Jason Hart has been lifelong friends with Jason Crowe Sr. — a former professional hooper turned high school coach — their relationship dating back to the early 90s.

Now, the Wildcats have offered Crowe’s son, Jason Crowe Jr., a five-star guard in the class of 2026.

Crowe told Jacob Polacheck of KSR+ on Monday that the No. 5 overall prospect has earned a scholarship from Pope and his staff.

The 6-2, 165-pound guard out of Lynwood, California is rated as the No. 1 combo guard in the rising junior class.

Crowe Jr. becomes the sixth player in 2026 to score an offer from the Wildcats, joining Brandon McCoy, Tyran Stokes, Caleb Holt, Miikka Muurinen and Taylen Kinney.

Check out what KSR’s Brandon Ramsey had to say about Crowe’s game following Nike EYBL Peach Jam back in July:

“Playing alongside one of Kentucky’s top 2025 targets, Tounde Yessoufou, this rising junior had a great week for Team WhyNot as well. He will definitely need to become more efficient, but that is to be expected when playing up at an event like the Peach Jam. However, despite some inefficiency, Crowe still managed to score 13.8 points per game. The smooth, left-handed guard runs the point a lot for WhyNot, but appears to be wired more as a scorer. He is about as true of a combo guard as you will find and can flourish in an on-ball or off-ball role at the next level. His shot mechanics are intact and what he shot over the course of the first four EYBL sessions (18-55 from 3) proves he can make threes. Definitely one of the top guards in the Class of 2026.”

Now he’s got an offer from the Cats.
