Kentucky continues to big-game hunt on the recruiting trail, swinging for the fences in 2027 after already proving to do so in 2026 by pushing for the top prospects in the class. The Wildcats have offered nine of the top 10 players in ’26, and now, they’ve extended an offer to the No. 1 recruit in ’27.

Following a dominant couple of weekends on the Nike EYBL circuit, 6-9 forward C.J. Rosser of Rocky Mount, NC announced a scholarship from Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats late Monday evening.

“Blessed to receive an offer from the University of Kentucky,” he wrote on social media.

The offer comes after multiple viewings over the weekend at EYBL Session II in Memphis, Pope and Cody Fueger among the coaches sitting courtside for Rosser. He averaged 19.8 points on 44.6 percent shooting and 31.3 percent from three with 8.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 assists in four live period performances.

He’s averaging 20.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.3 assists through two EYBL sessions.

“I can knock down jumpers, get to the rim, rebound, block shots — I pride myself on being versatile,” he said of a scouting report he’d write about himself. “I’d say I model my game after Wemby or KD, how they get to their spots for jump shots.”

KSR asked Rosser this past weekend what a scholarship offer from Kentucky would mean for the 6-9 forward, knowing the coaches were watching his game closely and one could be on the horizon.

“It’d be really big,” the five-star said. “It’s a good program that has put players in the NBA, good NBA players have come out of there. They help people get to the league. I know SGA — I know a couple, I just can’t name them all off the top of my head. D-Book went there, Anthony Davis, I know a couple.”

He didn’t have to wait long to receive the big news, Kentucky pulling the trigger just a day after Rosser left Memphis.
