3-star '24 RB Jason Patterson to announce decision in early August
Kentucky football already has one running back committed to the class of 2024. Could the staff add another less than a month from now?
Three-star running back Jason Patterson announced on social media Wednesday night that he has set a commitment date for Tuesday, August 1. The Sneads (FL) High product will choose between a list of finalists that includes Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Cincinnati, and Boston College. Patterson took official visits to all five schools during the month of June, including a stop in Lexington from June 14-15.
Clocking in at 6-foot, 205 pounds, Patterson is considered the No. 518 overall rising senior and a top 40 running back in the nation according to the On3 Industry Ranking. Kentucky also holds a commitment from three-star ’24 RB Tovani Mizell.
Looking at On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Kentucky holds a significant lead in Patterson’s recruitment at 88.2 percent. Two RPM picks (from myself and KSR’s Adam Luckett) have previously been logged in favor of the Wildcats. Patterson told KSR shortly after his official visit that UK was “in my top two”. The staff has made it clear he’s a priority for the 2024 recruiting class.

His official visit last month was the second time that Patterson has been in Lexington. He previously visited back in the fall to attend Kentucky’s 27-17 victory over Mississippi State on Oct. 15. His communication with the staff has remained constant ever since and led to him scheduling the official visit, which only heightened his interest in the ‘Cats.
“They exceeded (my expectations). Just seeing the place and seeing who they are. (The coaches) are the same, they’ll never change,” Patterson told KSR last month. “From my player host (senior RB JuTahn McClain) to the coaching staff, to everything about it. I loved everything about it.”
During his junior season at Sneads, Patterson registered over 2,700 rushing yards (which led the state of Florida) and 35 touchdowns on 206 carries for 13.1 yards per rush. Kentucky currently has 13 commits locked in with the 2024 class.
