One of the top high school juniors from the state of Missouri is heavily considering the Kentucky Wildcats. Tyler Gant, a three-star defensive lineman out of the St. Louis area, included UK among his top 5 potential college choices earlier on Monday. The 6-foot-3, 260-pounder also included Iowa State, Arkansas, Iowa, and Wisconsin.

Gant initially received his offer from Kentucky back in late April, just his second from a Power 5 program. He later visited UK’s campus during June for a camp workout. Kentucky safeties coach Frank Buffano has been Gant’s lead recruiter thus far with defensive line coach Anwar Stewart also involved.

On top of an unofficial to Kentucky over the summer, Gant also took trips to Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Iowa State, and Kansas State. During the fall college football season, he returned to check out Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas State, and Wisconsin while taking additional trips to Illinois, Notre Dame, and Kansas.

Kentucky and Iowa State are the only two schools among his top five that did not receive a gameday visit this past season. As of right now, there is no timeline for a final decision.

During his junior year at Christian Brothers College High School, Gant registered 73 tackles, 15 for loss, five sacks, and two interceptions. He also helped lead CBC to a Missouri state championship victory.
