YAHTZEE! The Aspirations Gym connection has paid off once again for the Kentucky Football staff. On Friday morning, three-star class of 2022 cornerback Elijah Reed announced his commitment to the Wildcats on Twitter.

Reed, who plays at Pleasure Ridge Park High School in Louisville, chose Kentucky over the likes of West Virginia, Illinois, Utah, and Purdue. Wildcat associate head coach Vince Marrow is Reed’s lead recruiter.

Kentucky was the first Power 5 offer for Elijah Reed, which he received back in July. He was in Lexington last weekend for an official visit.

“There ain’t no feeling like it, for real,” Reed told KSR days after receiving an offer from Kentucky. “I’ve never really went through anything like this before, so it’s really exciting to get the opportunity to be able to get something like that.”

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Reed trains at Aspirations Gym in Louisville, which is also where UK five-star commit Kiyaunta Goodwin trains. Reed recently switched sides of the field, moving from wide receiver to cornerback following the 2020 season. He was actually a senior then, but due to new rules as a result of COVID-19, Reed was granted an extra year of eligibility. As a result, he grew two inches and earned a handful of Power 5 offers.

“It feels a lot more natural at corner, to be honest,” Reed said. “I can be me at corner. At receiver you gotta stick to some stuff, you gotta do things a certain way. I can kind of do me at corner. That was the biggest thing switching to corner.”

Welcome to the BBN, Elijah!
