3rd Annual Walker Buehler Celebrity Charity Golf Outing in Lexington
Los Angeles Dodgers’ starting pitcher, two-time All-Star, and World Series Champion Walker Buehler is back in his hometown of Lexington, Kentucky to host the 3rd Annual Walker Buehler Celebrity Charity Golf Outing.
This year’s event will be at Lexington Country Club on Monday, November 14 and will benefit PanCAN, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Its mission is to take bold action to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer by advancing scientific research, building community, sharing knowledge, and advocating for patients. PanCAN was selected in special recognition of Ray Ball who is personally battling the disease and November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
Walker Buehler recognized early in his MLB career that life is bigger than baseball and he wanted to do what he could to make the lives of others better. His special interest in fighting all types of cancer grew from a special relationship he had with his “Uncle Pig,” as he was known to those who loved him. Uncle Pig lost his battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma when Walker was only ten years old. That loss has shaped the man he is today. A close observer can often spot “Pig” on Walker’s gloves and cleats as he carries his memory with him to the mound.
Pricing for the golf outing is $4000 per team with dinner included the evening prior for all participants. Dinner will be served at 7:00 pm, at The Tulip restaurant, located at 355 Romany Rd, Lexington, KY 40502. Tournament check in will begin at 9:30 am, at Lexington Country Club, with a shotgun start at 11:00 am. The tournament will be a modified shamble format and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams. The event will be limited to 18 teams and feature a live and silent auction. Lunch and beverages will be provided the day of the event.
