Kentucky football’s recruiting dice remain hot. After picking up a pair of commitments last week, the Wildcats have landed another high school prospect.

On Wednesday night, four-star tight end Mikkel Skinner announced his commitment to the University of Kentucky. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound product of Greer, SC chose the ‘Cats over the likes of South Carolina, South Florida, Georgia, and Ohio State. On3 ranks him as the No. 242 overall recruit from the class of 2025.

Skinner becomes the 21st commit for Kentucky in this cycle, a group that ranks 23rd in the nation and 12th in the SEC. UK added three-star safety Dyllon Williams and three-star wide receiver Montavin Quisenberry into the fold last week.

Originally committed to Cincinnati from June until September, Skinner formed a strong relationship with associate head coach Vince Marrow over the summer. Marrow gave him a verbal scholarship in July and then extended an official offer in August. Skinner visited Lexington multiple times over the last few months, most recently during Kentucky’s game against Vanderbilt on Oct. 12.

“Coach Marrow really makes it feel like I moved into my household I already live in and that’s home,” Skinner recently told On3’s Steve Wiltfong.

The home state South Carolina Gamecocks were also heavily involved and, at one point over the last several weeks, were viewed as the frontrunner. Skinner took a handful of visits to Columbia in quick succession throughout the season, but his connection with Marrow won out in the end.
