4-star '23 S Daeh McCullough commits to Cincinnati over Kentucky
Following his decommitment from Indiana just a couple of weeks ago, Daeh McCullough was considering Kentucky as his future home. However, that did not end up being the case. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety committed to the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday afternoon, which was also his birthday.
“I was born and raised in Cincinnati,” McCullough said, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “Also, I have a strong relationship with all of the coaches and no one will develop me more than coach (Kerry) Coombs.”
McCullough is considered a four-star prospect from the class of 2023 and the No. 16 ranked safety in the country. He took an official visit to Cincinnati this weekend.

Word first spread that Kentucky was in contention for McCullough’s services shortly after his decommitment from the Hoosiers in May. Joining the Wildcats in the mix were the likes of Cincinnati, Minnesota, Penn State, and Indiana. McCullough’s father, Deland, was the former running backs coach at Indiana before taking the same position with Notre Dame.
Kentucky currently has the 38th best recruiting class in 2023, per On3. The Wildcats have six commitments, led by four-star wide receiver Shamar Porter.
