4-star '24 SF Billy Richmond schedules official visit to Kentucky
As four-star wing Billy Richmond begins to wind down his recruitment, he’s locked in five official visits for this coming fall — one of them a trip to Lexington.
According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Richmond is down to just eight college options and plans to officially visit Kentucky on September 15-17. Along with UK, the 6-foot-6 Camden (NJ) High product will also OV at LSU on September 8-10, Memphis on September 29-31, Kansas on October 6-8, and Alabama on October 20-22. All five schools, plus Miami (FL), Texas, and Louisville, are among his group of finalists.
Richmond is considered a Kentucky lean and has been ever since he became a well-known prospect on the recruiting trail. He received an offer from head coach John Calipari on New Year’s Day and has since been trending towards UK. Of note, Richmond’s father played for Calipari at Memphis from 2002-04. Richmond also played last high school season with current Kentucky freshman Aaron Bradshaw and DJ Wagner at Camden High.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Richmond is the No. 32 overall prospect in the class of 2024. Kentucky currently has one 2024 commit locked in with four-star center Somto Cyril.
Just last month, KSR’s Jack Pilgrim was able to talk with Richmond about his recruitment. At the time, Richmond indicated that a potential decision could come around the beginning of the upcoming school year or right before the start of basketball season. If he intends to take all five of his official visits before doing so, a late October/early November commitment could be on the table. He told KSR that Kentucky, Memphis, and Alabama were recruiting him the hardest.

“You can’t go wrong with Kentucky,” Richmond told KSR. “Big Blue is one of the best schools in basketball history, and there’s a great coaching staff there.”
Playing on the Nike EYBL circuit for the NJ Scholars this summer, Richmond averaged a team-high 18.0 points on 54.0 percent shooting while adding 6.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.4 steals during the regular season. He then averaged 13.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.6 blocks at Peach Jam.
A top-15 scorer overall and a force on both ends of the floor, Richmond proved himself on high school basketball’s biggest stage.
