4-star '24 WR Boo Carter includes Kentucky in Top 12 list of schools

Boo Carter recently visited Lexington for Kentucky football’s season-opening win over Miami (OH) back in early September. Several weeks later, the Wildcats are still firmly in the mix of his recruitment.
On Thursday afternoon, Carter announced that Kentucky had cracked his Top 12 list of schools. The 6-foot-0, 180-pound safety is considered a four-star recruit from the class of 2024 and the No. 248 prospect in the country, per the On3 Consensus. His Top 12 also includes the likes of Clemson, Jackson State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Tennessee, Michigan State, Penn State, Michigan, Miami, LSU, and Arizona State.
Carter plays high school ball for Chattanooga (TN) Christian School and is being heavily recruited by the in-state Tennessee Volunteers. He took a visit to Knoxville last weekend to watch the Vols’ upset win over Alabama and has been on campus multiple times this year. UT was also his first Divison I offer.

Of note, Carter is friends with Lexington (KY) Christian Academy four-star Cutter Boley, who is ranked as one of the top overall quarterbacks in the ’24 class. Carter and Boley were in Lexington together for the victory against Miami (OH). Additionally, Carter knows Kentucky freshman Barion Brown, who has shined as a versatile playmaker for the ‘Cats early in his career.
Carter is listed as a safety by the On3 database but is also a top-tier ball carrier and is trying his hand at wide receiver this season. As a sophomore at Chattanooga Christian School in 2021, he suited up at running back and recorded over 1,500 all-purpose yards (averaging 10.7 yards per carry) for 22 touchdowns in just eight games played. Carter also added 51 tackles on defense, including four interceptions and four pass breakups.
