4-star '25 EDGE Amaree Williams visiting Kentucky this weekend

Amaree Williams, the son of legendary Kentucky football running back Moe Williams, will be in Lexington this weekend to watch the Wildcats take on No. 8 Alabama at Kroger Field.
Williams is considered a four-star recruit from the class of 2025. Checking in at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, the EDGE prospect has visited Kentucky multiple times in the past but this will be his first visit of the 2023 season. Williams is ranked as the 80th-best junior in the country by the On3 Industry Ranking. On3’s Chad Simmons broke the news on Wednesday morning.
Kentucky was the very first Power 5 school to get involved with Williams’ recruitment, but he’s now hearing from all of the nation’s top programs. The Palm Beach Gardens (FL) Benjamin School product released a Top 13 back in November that included the likes of UK, Georgia, Alabama, Southern California, Michigan, Texas, and others.

Amaree’s father, Moe Williams, is one of the most decorated running backs in the history of Kentucky football. The former Georgia High School Player of the Year helped lead the Wildcats to the Peach Bowl in his true freshman season and later set the program’s single-season rushing record with 1,600 yards as a junior. Williams finished his UK career with 3,333 total rushing yards and 27 total touchdowns before playing 10 years in the NFL.
That tie gives Kentucky an advantage in recruiting, but the competition is stiff. Williams visited Southern California last weekend and was at Georgia in October. Getting him in Lexington for a big-time matchup against a top-10 opponent is significant. He’s a legitimate top-end talent.
