The final live evaluation period of the summer began on Tuesday and wraps up today, and Kentucky coaches made sure to check in on some of the top uncommitted 2025 recruits out there. Where did they stop? The 2024 NCAA College Basketball Academy in Rock Hill, SC.

According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, Kentucky had an assistant coach on hand at the event on Wednesday to check out four-star class of 2025 center Mouhammed Sylla. The 6-foot-10 big man out of the NBA Academy Latin America program was watched by plenty of high-major coaches, including head coaches Dan Hurley (UConn) and Porter Moser (Oklahoma) along with assistants from Duke, Kansas, Arkansas, and others.

A native of Senegal, Sylla is considered the No. 40 overall 2025 prospect in the cycle by On3, which is the only major recruiting service that currently has him ranked.

Sylla had an excellent showing in Rock Hill this week as his stock continues to climb. Shaw even tabbed him as the MVP of the entire event. Here’s what Shaw wrote about Sylla’s game:

“His best skill, at least in this showing was perhaps the fact he was consistently around the ball. He slides his feet well on defense, he was aggressive in the passing lanes, and he rebounded the ball strongly with two hands in traffic,” Shaw said. “Offensively, Sylla showed flashes. He knocked down a couple of mid-range pull ups and he pushed the break, under control, and gave it up to get it back. A lot to like about where he is currently at, and a lot more to like when you think about his upside.”

At this time, it’s unknown which schools — if any — have actually extended offers to Sylla. However, it’s clear that he has plenty of interest from big-name programs.

Kentucky head coach Mark Pope has already offered a pair of centers from the 2025 class in Malachi Moreno and Eric Reibe. Will Sylla be next to earn one?
