4-star DL Deone Walker set to announce college decision on Dec. 15
Just a few days after he’ll take his official visit to Kentucky, Deone Walker will announce his college decision.
According to Allen Trieu of 247Sports, Walker will make his commitment on Wednesday, Dec. 15 on CBS Sports HQ. That day will mark the first of the Early Signing Period. Kentucky Football head coach Mark Stoops was in to see Walker on Monday for an in-home visit.
A four-star defensive lineman out of Detroit, the 6-foot-6, 355-pounder is considered to be down to just three schools: Kentucky, Michigan, and Georgia. Walker currently has an official visit scheduled to Lexington for the weekend of Dec. 10, the last of his OVs before making a final decision.
During the 2021 season, Walker has made game visits to Michigan, Missouri, Georgia, and Kentucky. Alabama is also in the mix, although the Crimson Tide didn’t come on until late. Walker was in Lexington when the Wildcats upset then-No. 10 Florida at Kroger Field in early October.

Walker told KSR a couple of months ago that he was hearing the most from Kentucky and Michigan. If we look at national media predictions over at 247Sports and Rivals, the overwhelming majority of them favor the Wolverines. However, the most recently logged picks are projecting Walker to choose the ‘Cats. Considering Kentucky will get the last pitch before he decides, it would appear that momentum is on UK’s side.
But as we recently learned from Aamil Wagner’s recruitment, nothing is set in stone. Let’s hope Stoops’ pitch earlier this week was a convincing one. Come on down, Deone.
