4-star EDGE Brian Robinson sets Oct. 4 commitment date
It’s decision week for 2024 four-star Austintown (Ohio) Westerville North EDGE Brian Robinson. After attending Kentucky’s 33-14 victory over Florida, the 6-5, 250-pound pass-rusher announced he would be making his commitment on October 4 — this Wednesday.
Robinson told On3 in late September he knew “100 percent” where he was going, adding “I have found what is best for me.” Now he’s ready to go public with that decision.
“Excited about the place that’s going to be my new home,” the four-star recruit announced Sunday. “It’s an incredible program, a great team and a powerful legacy. This process has been a long, complicated road. And definitely not what I expected when I started this whole thing — but I think it’s made me better, it’s taught me a lot about the kind of people I want around me and it’s made me excited about building a different kind of future.”
Robinson took official visits to Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan and Penn State, those schools making up his finalists alongside Tennessee.

Michigan prepared to offer No. 1 recruit $10.5M over 4 years
He previously told On3 that patience allowed him to find his new home, that school remaining consistent and diligent in its communication. It allowed him to separate the real from the ingenuine.
“It came down to consistency,” Robinson said. “My dad always told me that patience trumps everything long-term. I am not the type of recruit that has to be pacified, and consistency means something to me. I am just patient and want to see who is real and who is genuine. Patience has shown me that and that has helped me get a good idea of where I want to go.”
Robinson is rated as the No. 131 overall prospect and No. 9 EDGE in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking.
Kentucky holds firm as the favorite ahead of his announcement, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine giving the Wildcats a 75.9% chance to land the commitment. KSR’s Adam Luckett and Nick Roush are among the experts with UK picks, joining the likes of Oklahoma recruiting insider Josh McCuistion and Michigan recruiting insider EJ Holland.
Will he be a Wildcat? It’s trending that way, but we’ll find out for certain on Wednesday.
