4-star in-state DL Javeon Campbell schedules commitment date
One of the country’s top football recruits is ready to announce his college decision, and Kentucky is right in the thick of the race.
Four-star defensive lineman Javeon Campbell out of Frankfort (KY) Western Hills has scheduled his commitment for Tuesday, July 2 at 11:00 a.m. EST, Jacob Polacheck of KSR+ has learned. Campbell is down to a group of finalists that includes the in-state Wildcats along with Alabama, Auburn, and Miami (FL). His commitment will be livestreamed by 247Sports.
Campbell is the No. 167 overall class of 2025 recruit according to the On3 Industry Ranking. There are currently two RPM picks in favor of the talented lineman choosing Kentucky.
Despite not playing football until his junior season, Campbell has quickly established himself as a high-caliber prospect. Clocking in at 6-foot-5, 260 pounds, he has the frame to play college ball right away. His recruitment began to blow up earlier in the year and he’s been a major stock-riser in the rankings ever since.

Kentucky associate head coach Vince Marrow is the lead recruiter for Campbell, having offered him on the Wildcats’ behalf back on Feb. 2. Defensive coordinator Brad White and defensive line coach Anwar Stewart are also aiding in this recruitment. As a junior at Western Hills this past season, Campbell recorded 14.5 sacks in just seven games played.
All of college football’s powerhouse schools were involved at one point. The likes of Georgia, Florida, LSU, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Ohio State also extended him scholarships.
Heading down the final stretch, UK appears to be in good shape with the state’s top-ranked prospect. Kentucky currently has 14 commits in the 2025 cycle, ranking 23rd nationally.
