4-star PG Acaden Lewis cuts list to four, includes Kentucky
Can Kentucky land one of the top point guards in the class of 2025 to pair with Jasper Johnson in the backcourt? Four-star senior Acaden Lewis, ranked No. 34 overall and No. 5 at his position, has included the Wildcats in his final list cut.
The 6-3 guard out of Sidwell Friends School (D.C.) has trimmed his list down to four schools, leaving Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, and UConn in consideration. He previously considered the likes of Tennessee, Syracuse, Michigan and Auburn, among others.
Mark Pope and the entire Kentucky coaching staff visited Lewis this past week, the four-star guard hosting the program’s head coach on Monday, along with the likes of Jason Hart, Alvin Brooks III, and Cody Fueger on an in-home visit in D.C.
“A lot of people saw the home visit they just did with me and everything,” Lewis said of Kentucky. “Their staff is doing an amazing job recruiting. They’ve been super active being in film sessions with me. I like the thought of playing with Jasper Johnson to be honest. Two lefties is pretty lethal. So that’s pretty cool. I’ve seen Coach Pope at BYU a bunch of times, just watching. Not knowing he would get the Kentucky job or I would even get the opportunity to be going to a Kentucky, but he’s done a really good job with the program so far. I think they’re going to have a good year this year. And I think next year, with the way he is recruiting, it could be a breakout year if he gets all the guys he’s going after.
“Just blessed to play in a system like that. Coach Hart played in the NBA and he was bad, like he could hoop. So it would be cool to learn from a guy like that especially since he’s be around the league with G-League Ignite. So a lot of experience and a great staff and a place I could see myself playing.”
The top-35 recruit is planning to sign in November, hoping to announce his commitment in the coming months.
“I want an opportunity to play,” Lewis told Jacob Polacheck of KSR+. “Obviously, you’re not going to get playing time handed to you, but I want an opportunity to earn playing time. … (Playing with other elite talent is) something that some players shy away from, but I’m cool with giving up some of my pride to win games and play at the highest level. I want to play with other high-level guys.”

What is the school of Lewis’ choosing getting in the high-profile point guard?
“I’m an exciting guard that can score and pass and I’m just a playmaker,” Lewis told KSR+. “That’s a word I like to use. I like to make plays, whether it’s me scoring, someone else scoring, or getting a stop on defense. I’m pretty smart. I manipulate the game. I try to play at my own pace. Poise is a word I try to use in my game. I try to never be too sped up, but I can go fast at the same time. I try to stay in my own little bubble.”
Caleb Wilson wants to team up with Acaden Lewis
Can the Wildcats pull off a two-for-one special? Kentucky is currently hosting five-star forward Caleb Wilson, a consensus top-five prospect nationally, on an official visit. Shortly after Lewis announced his final four, Wilson responded on social media, “come on over bro.”
Come on over where, Mr. Wilson? Lexington, perhaps? Kentucky would certainly appreciate the possibility of adding both high-profile recruits.
The five-star forward appears to be having a great time on campus.
It would be quite the statement for Mark Pope to pull off both Lewis and Wilson in 2025. Today was a step in the right direction.
